There is an undeniable connection between the state of our homes, the state of our lives and our personal well-being. Our homes should be a respite of peace away from the stresses and disorder of the world, not a continuation of the stress felt when out in the world. We have no control over many facets of the world we live and work in but we do have control over the chaos or calm at home. We become so accustomed…

I don't know how you feel but one of my biggest frustrations is when I have to search for tools and supplies when I am in the middle of a DIY project, or worse yet buy a tool or hardware only to discover I already owned one but it wasn't where I could find it, so I forgot I had it. At our last house I installed pegboard along one wall in my garage and it worked well but every…

I love fall and even though we live in Arizona, my heart and soul remain in the Midwest where I lived for most of my life! September may no longer bring slightly cooler days and the beginning of the change of color on the trees, my internal clock, however, says it is time to make some changes to the décor. I am not ready for the Halloween décor, but pumpkins and mums are a welcome change. The last couple years…

The Five Deadly Staging Sins – sellers and real estate pros ~ this is for you! OK, that is a bit dramatic but not knowing what you need to do can cost time, money and stress when selling your home. One factor that can be overlooked when getting your home ready to sell is the focus of some of your time and energy to enhance its appeal to a select group of people, those most likely to make an appearance at your open houses. OK settle down long time readers! Yes the first step is to wipe the slate clean, which allows you to attract a wide group of buyers. If you have taken the Total Home Solutions Audio Program and followed the recommendations for Staging and Feng Shui, then you are miles ahead of the other home sellers. That being said, there are ways to determine and then subtlety appeal to your group, to open your arms and home to welcome a certain demographic depending upon your circumstances. Let me explain what I mean. Let's say that you have already staged and applied Feng Shui principles to your home, and now you are ready to add a little something interesting and pump up the appeal. What could you do? Something that will not scare away buyers in a different demographic group, while at the same time entices buyers. It is a balance that can be achieved with forethought and care.

Realize this first and foremost ~I am not one that jumps into things. I am also not technology savvy. But I am always keen on finding ways to make my life and work easier and more productive. However, unless I can see immediate results in adding something new to my life, I don't see a purpose for having it. It also must have more than one use. I learned long ago that I can make Quesadillas in a pan so there…
