I have seen it time and again. People trusting an article slanted to benefit the author, relying on what others tell them and listening to uninformed opinions without doing any research themselves. Today I want to bring to light some very important points that everyone who owns a home and will probably eventually sell at some point, need to consider. #1 Listening to the advice of friends about which Realtor to hire. Don’t be afraid to interview a few Realtors…

In my dreams my home is new but has lots of the charm of an older home. A new home doesn't requires the maintenance that comes with an older home with cracked sidewalks and settling cracks tracing the walls and the constant vigilance of leaking pipes and broken seals on windows. Not to say that older homes aren't wonderful but just not for me. I want a home that is energy efficient with updated appliances and smooth unrepaired walls and…

Reclaimed, reused, re-purposed and refurbished are the new buzz words in decorating. I was at an event in Scottsdale called Junk in the Trunk and was blown away by the number of reclaimed items especially windows for sale. I love that they are not ending up in a landfill and that people can be so amazing and creative in the ways to make them into so many things! First off ~ I know I promised the pot by the front…

One factor that can be overlooked when getting your home ready to sell is the focus of some of your time and energy to enhance its appeal to a select group of people, those most likely to make an appearance at your open houses. OK settle down long time readers! Yes the first step is to wipe the slate clean, which allows you to attract a wide group of buyers. If you have taken the Total Home Solutions Audio Program and followed the recommendations for Staging and Feng Shui, then you are miles ahead of the other home sellers. That being said, there are ways to determine and then subtlety appeal to your group, to open your arms and home to welcome a certain demographic depending upon your circumstances. Let me explain what I mean. Let's say that you have already staged and applied Feng Shui principles to your home, and now you are ready to add a little something interesting and pump up the appeal. What could you do? Something that will not scare away buyers in a different demographic group, while at the same time entices buyers. It is a balance that can be achieved with forethought and care.

Realize this first and foremost ~I am not one that jumps into things. I am also not technology savvy. But I am always keen on finding ways to make my life and work easier and more productive. I learned long ago that I can make Quesadillas in a pan so there…
